Privacy Notice
Last updated 30 October 2026.
This notice explains what personal information our website collects, why, who sees it and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers thelocalpubcompany.co.uk and the pages for our five pubs: The Waterside, The Duck, Unicorns Head, The Bradgate and The Lancaster.
Who we are
The Local Pub Company is the trading name of The Local Pub Company (Notts) Ltd, company number 17206177, registered office 106 Lichfield Road, Stafford, Staffordshire, ST17 4LP. We are the controller of the personal information described here. For any question about it, email communities@thelocalpubcompany.co.uk.
What we collect and why
Insiders and Student cards
When you join Insiders, on our website or at one of our pubs, we collect your first name, your email address and your UK mobile number. You can also give us your last name and your home pub. We add the date you joined, the card number, your card status (applied, active or paused), and a record of your visits: the date of each stamp, the pub, and whether it was added by a bar phone or by you on your own phone. We also keep the rewards you have earned and used. We use these to give you your card and its rewards, and so our staff can check it at the bar. If you add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, it is stored on your phone by Apple or Google. Where a pub offers a Student card, the same applies, along with the card type you picked.
You can also collect a stamp by scanning the code at the pub and checking in on your own phone. Your phone asks if it can share its location. We use that one reading only to check that you are at the pub, and we do not store it. If you do not already have a card, we ask for your first name and your mobile number or email, and this creates your Insiders record.
We use these details because you asked us for a card (our lawful basis is providing the service you signed up for). Joining Insiders also puts you on the Insider List below, because you tick the box to agree when you join.
Your Insiders record is held in our customer system, a GoHighLevel (LeadConnector) account that NotLuck runs for us. Some pub card sign-ups are held in a Google Sheet that NotLuck runs for us.
The Insider List (email and WhatsApp)
When you join the Insider List, for example to get an invite to The Lancaster's welcome nights, or when you join Insiders or check in with the tick box, we collect your first name, your email address and your mobile number. Your last name and postcode are optional. We use them to send you your invite and our news, offers, events and invitations from our five pubs, by email and on WhatsApp. It is one list, and we only add you if you tick the box to agree (our lawful basis is your consent). We keep a record of what you agreed to, when, and the page you agreed on. You can leave at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or reply STOP on WhatsApp. Your details are kept in the customer system described above.
Reporting a problem with one of our screens
If you use the “Something not right?” form, we collect what you tell us about the problem, the page you sent it from and your browser type. Your name and email are optional: if you give your email, we use it only to reply about the problem. Reports go to NotLuck, who run our website and screens, as a support ticket so they can fix it (our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the screens working).
Ask us anything
When our “Ask us anything” assistant is switched on, it answers questions about our pubs, menus and opening times. What you type is sent to an AI service (Anthropic’s Claude model, reached through OpenRouter) along with our menus and opening hours, so it can write the answer. We do not keep a record of your conversation. Please do not type personal or sensitive details into it. If the assistant is switched off, nothing is sent.
Booking a table
Table bookings are made through Dojo. The details you give when you book go to Dojo and to the pub you are booking, and Dojo’s own privacy notice applies.
Cookies and analytics
We only use Google Analytics and Hotjar if you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner. Until you choose, both stay off. They tell us which pages people visit and how they use them, so we can improve the site. Our Cookie Policy has the details and lets you change your choice.
Running the website
Our website is hosted by Netlify, which keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from misuse.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the website and our pubs, and only for the purposes above:

- GoHighLevel (LeadConnector), the customer system that holds your Insiders and Insider List details, including the emails and WhatsApp messages we send you
- Google, which hosts the Google Sheets we use for pub card sign-ups, our opening hours and our menus, and, if you accept cookies, Google Analytics
- Netlify, which hosts the website
- OpenRouter and Anthropic, for the “Ask us anything” assistant when it is switched on
- Hotjar, if you accept cookies
- Dojo, for table bookings
- Apple or Google, if you add your card to your phone’s wallet
Some of these companies are based outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where your information leaves the UK, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by the contract safeguards those companies provide.

- Problem reports: until the problem is fixed, and no longer than 12 months.
- Your location at check-in: not kept.
- “Ask us anything” conversations: not kept.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, stop using it or send it to you in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, such as for analytics cookies, you can withdraw it at any time. To do any of these, email communities@thelocalpubcompany.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
